A major part of our methodology involves Temporal Self Comparisons. These comparisons help people redefine the way they experience the things they encounter in the course of day-to-day life. By having a customizable tool to appraise these experiences, it can be easier to respond to them better when they present themselves again.
Temporal Self Comparisons work by taking advantage of the fact that the mind is an auto-associative “machine.” Because the mind is so complex, your mental state at any given moment is an amalgamation of many different perspectives. Temporal Self Comparisons help you engage constructively with the alternative perspectives of your present self. They help you find body and mind flexibility pivot points that let you make adjustments to your appraisals that lead to higher functionality and promote greater well-being. In time, these comparisons will let you reframe your habits in a way that moves you out of a mere state of survival and into a state of growth. They will train your brain to grow more neural pathways that support effective healthy functioning in many different ways.

Flourishing is the state of optimal mental health. Flourishing has a host of benefits, both for individual people and for society as a whole. By focusing on flourishing, we focus on helping you develop the skills you need to do better and feel better in your own life regardless of the specific circumstances you are facing.
And to help you develop the skills appropriate to your own unique self and situation, we use a comprehensive flourishing model assessment that includes elements of emotional, psychological, and social well-being. These are evaluated on multidimensional scales that evaluate autonomy, intimacy, acceptance, purpose, integration, contribution, and mastery of your environment. These scales have been well validated by science as possessing good construct validity that can reliably assess people’s positive functioning when faced with social challenges. They build up a comprehensive picture of your social integration, social acceptance, social contribution, social coherence, and social actualization.
The Flourishing Methodology
Environmental factors also contribute to who you are. Your well-being is not defined only by your mental state. Genetics play a role in developing health; however, it has been widely demonstrated that genes don’t ultimately determine who you are. In addition, people who may be born with a genetic predisposition for disorders are also born with a genetic predisposition for feeling well. That is because genes alone do not reflect phenotype (your observable traits.)
We define environment here as including the things that we experience in the present, what we experienced as a child, and also the environment we are in right now. This environment can activate favorable genetic potential and can increase a positive predisposition by activating genetic potential for favorable health.
Therefore, well-being can be as inheritable as common health disorders.
